I caught a glimpse of Sharon Cuneta’s Mega 30 Concert at ABS CBN 2 this evening. Sharon, as usual, is at her best. She knew how to work a crowd. But what I noticed was the ridiculous outfit that she wore at the end of the concert. She looked like her head was just stuffed inside the dress. Here is the photo I am talking about…

Look at her with the same gown without the ridiculous sleeves…

Whoever made that ridiculous sleeves did not do her any justice. At all!

This news is something.

In this day and age when young kids trade education for a bit of fame in showbiz, Emma Watson, better known as the girl who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, has opted to pursue education than fame.

It was reported that Emma will be taking a break from acting after the last Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She will be concentrating in pursuing a degree either in English Literature or Liberal Arts. Any other offer for movies or guestings will take second place to university, she was quoted as saying. She has decided that education is more important than anything else.

What a refreshing news!

She already confirmed it according to PEP.ph. Vina Morales, reported to be 2 months pregnant by her non-showbiz boyfriend, Cedric Lee, was seen by PEP being interviewed by The Buzz. In the interview, the sultry singer from Cebu confirmed the reports and announced that she is indeed expecting.

Vina is lovely and I am sure her baby will be as well. Goodluck!

UPDATED: Ateneo wins the 2008 UAAP Senior Basketball Series!!!

My dad and my brother are big fans of college basketball. My brother is a college freshman so that’s understandable. Pro basketball here in the Philippines is not that exciting anymore so all basketball aficionados turned to college basketball.

UAAP and NCAA are the collegiate basketball organizations here in the Philippines. UAAP is the more popular of the two and the one where my alma mater, University of Sto. Tomas (UST) is a member of.

Right now, the championship best-of-3 series between La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila University is on going, with the latter leading the series 0-1.

You cannot imagine the capacity crowd in Araneta Coliseum where the series is being held. Thousands of fans of both teams are in attendance. Game 2 is being played with Ateneo leading by as much as 20 points. I smell an Ateneo victory!

Because Survivor Philippines airs directly after Kim Sam Soon, I get to watch the show. Nothing surprising with Eugene Domingo’s acting. She is funny without exerting too much effort on her part. Regine Velasquez as Kim Sam Soon, as usual, tries so hard to look younger than she already is. The fake eyelashes does not do her anything good. It makes her look… a trying-hard-to-have-smoky-eyes old gal. I saw a photo of her without any make-up on and she looks waaaay better than the make-up she had on for Kim Sam Soon. Maybe it’s with the character but still.

Mark Anthony Fernandez is still handsome for me. I believe this localized Korean drama revived his career. Remember all those drug-related news about him years back? It almost ended his career. But now, people are calling him Cyrus, his role in Kim Sam Soon, everywhere he goes. Good for him! A good actor like him deserves a second break.

Anyway, I won’t pass judgment about the show. I haven’t really watched an entire episode. Based on tv ratings I’ve read, the show is doing fairly good than their competitor in the other channel. I love the bloopers at the end of each episode. That much I can say.

I guess pregnancy news on celebrities is nothing new anymore. There are so many pregnant celebrities right now.

Vina Morales, a well-known personality here in the Philippines, is said to be 2 months pregnant by his non-showbiz boyfriend named Cedric Lee. If you are following local showbiz news, this Cedric guy is the one who was reported to be still married, but separated from his wife already when Vina entered the picture.

There was a brouhaha a few months back when the news broke out. Vina with her sweet image was accused of being a home-wrecker and all. But Cedric sent letters to the media defending Vina and confirming that he was indeed separated from his wife already when he and Vina entered into a relationship.

Let’s see when Vina will go on national tv to confirm this news.

As you obviously noticed, I have struggled with the content of this blog. I have originally given this blog to my sister but since teaching is her priority now (she is teaching special children), she gave this blog back to me. And then I thought of making this an entertainment blog. Something about movies, celebrities, television and the like… but I was more focused on watching rather than on dishing about the shows I watch. I neglected this blog and I was sorry for what it became.

But I am back now with so much to tell you, guys!

I realized, I might as well do short posts. Posts that will not take too long for readers and visitors to read. Catchy little posts about the shows I’ve recently watched. Movies, new or old ones, that I had the time to view. Music videos and other kind of videos I’ve seen. New and old songs I’ve heard. You get the drift…

And by the way, Splotches will now be written by three persons. She (that’s me!), Dee and Tina, two of my closest friends. Plus, my Entrecard widget will now be back in action as well!
