Installation

As I have said in a previous post, my aunt is having her house renovated. The aluminum fence installation will be done by Monday next week. She wants it in the backyard so she can separate the place for the clothes line and washing machine from the place where the dogs are. They have two Labradors and she doesn’t want her new laundrywoman spooked by the dogs who roam around the house freely.

Feedback needed

I was surprised to find an email from a friend of mine asking me about Dallas Texas hotels. She saw a couple of entries I have written in the past about hotels I stayed at and she was curious if I have something for hotels in Dallas. I haven’t stayed at one yet but hopefully, I can ask some friends who are in the area for a feedback regarding the best and worst in town.

House renovation

We were lucky to have found a discount Grohe faucet easily. An aunt of mine is having her house renovated at the moment and me and my cousin were asked for some errands this afternoon. Fortunately, under the blazing hot sun, we were able to finish in just under two hours the errands that my cousin and I had to do. Tomorrow is another day and another batch of errands for us to do is already being written down.

Melancholic and hopeful

I was looking at a photo of a woman sitting by her windowsill and gazing out her window to the Mulberry trees. I love the photo because it is both melancholic and hopeful, depending on your interpretation. It is a photo shot by a friend’s friend and was shown to me the other day. I love how it was done in sepia. When I was looking at it, I was thinking how it would look great in my bedroom…

Fare cut: 7pesos jeepney fare

pricecut

Starting today, February 23, 2009, jeepney fare will be cut back to 7 pesos (7Php) from the previous 7 pesos and 50 cents (7.50Php). This is good news to all the commuters! Remember that even coins saved could amount to a significant amount in the long run. In this time when we need every little thing that can help us survive, a fare cut is big deal to everyone.

Plus, there will be oil price rollbacks that will coincide to this fare cut. Yey to all!

Happy Monday everyone!

So can I?!?

Have you seen Kate Winslet lately? She’s so sexy! I mean, her body now is a far cry from her former shape. You couldn’t help but think that she probably know the best diet pill there is! Ha-ha! A friend told me that you just have to decide once and for all if you really want to be healthy. After you’ve decided, you should summon a fierce resolve that you will really see it through. Easy to say, hard to put into action. But this friend of mine was able to do it. So can I?!?

Grandma's house

When I was in high school, classmates and friends come over my grandma’s house all the time. If we needed a place to practice a play at, it would be my grandma’s house right away. When we needed a place to hang out or do a project at or for whatever reason we could think of, my grandma’s place was always the designated official place. The patio furniture was witness to our teenage angst and all that. Whenever my friends come over, those that remained close to me through the years, we would laugh about the silliness of our youth and would still hang out at my grandma’s place.

Johnny Delgado: Lymphoma not colon cancer

It was all over the news a couple of months ago, in 2008, that veteran actor, Johnny Delgado has colon cancer and was dying. It started as a blind item and was later reported in major entertainment news programs, tabloids and broadsheets.

According to the article in PEP.ph, he was told by the doctors that it was colon cancer and that his body had shut down. He had two weeks to live. He left everything to the Lord. And then the biopsy results done to him came out. It was not colon cancer! It turned out to be lymphoma, still a form of cancer but one that could be treated with chemo cycles. After a couple of chemo sessions, he is not doing fine and 85% of the cancer cells are already gone.

He said that whatever happens, he is leaving everything to Him and that miracles do happen.

Scared silly

I read in an entertainment web site that a local actress went to a mall abroad. She was shocked to find out that at the middle of the day, she’s the only customer inside a section of it. She was scared silly because her voice was reverberating and all ugly thoughts about bomb scare and all that entered her mind before she remembered that there is a recession happening nationwide.

Going home, according to her, she wondered what would happen to the POS system that almost stores have. She was wondering about that until her plane landed safe and sound locally.

Freshman College

I saw this video at PerezHilton.com and he is right… bloody amazing!!! Check it out below…

That was Coldplay featuring Gary Barlow of Take That singing Back For Good! This song was one of my favorite songs in the 90s. Love, love, love it!

Graduation gift

My favorite cousin will be graduating this coming April from grade school. He is a consistent honor student and as a reward, I am thinking of giving him a graduation present. When I asked him last holiday season what he wanted, he told me that he wants some wii accessories and gave me a list from where I could choose. I am using that list again to choose one that I will be giving him for his graduation. I believe that a good kid should be rewarded from time to time so as to inspire him to do better.

Dilemma

It’s hard for me to think of a gift for a friend. Think about it. When you know someone and you know that that person has already almost everything, it gets doubly hard for you to think of a great gift to give. That’s my dilemma right now. I don’t know what to give a friend on her birthday. I went to the home section of a department store and saw Sferra and thought immediately of giving her one but I don’t know if she already has one at home. Knowing her, she probably has. So that leaves me with limited choices. Should I just ask her? Hmm…

Lawyer wannabe

I subscribed to a cable tv service because our family loves to watch tv shows together. I was watching a news channel and there was a report about a shoulder pain pump lawsuit. It just reminded me of my plans to become a CPA-Lawyer. But that was set aside because I have to help the family with the finances.

Now that I can already put my plans into action, my desire to become a lawyer has long since faded. Gone were the days I was so adamant in setting forth my plans into action. These days my inclination towards the law is limited to tv shows.

Ashamed?!

Seeing a friend who was overweight in the past and now is so slim makes you feel ashamed of not doing something with your own weight. It actually made me want to run to my doctor’s clinic and ask for the best diet pill that I can take. If only it would be that easy to lose all the excess weight I have. But of course, it takes more than just popping pills in your mouth. It takes hard work before you can get off the pounds you’ve accumulated over the years.

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday

Most people hate Mondays because it represents the start of another week of grueling work and the start of rushing out home. But we can take this the positive way. We can look at Mondays as the start of a new week full of hope. It can also signal the end of the horrible past week.

Happy Monday everyone!
