Stay positive, stay hopeful

I have come across several articles with a cynic tone about being positive in this time of crisis. Maybe it is just easy for me to tell everyone to be positive because, yes, I can feel the financial crisis like everyone else. But I guess I am lucky enough to have siblings who help me out. For some people out there who rely on themselves only, it is hard to maintain a positive outlook in life or a positive state of being. Lost job, depleted savings, no sign of a new job in the horizon.

But you know, we can try to stay positive and be hopeful. Because we attract positive energy that way. And do you remember what the elders say? When you are down, deep down there, there’s no way to go but up. It may take a while. It may have to come in a form of a sacrifice. But it will come. A threadbare thing to hold on to, positive thoughts. We just have to always remember that there is a time for everything and a higher purpose to what’s happening in our lives.

Feel good

Feel good about yourself. If it takes weight loss pills to do that, then go for it! Some people will frown on the way you use to achieve it. But I say, ignore them! If you are not hurting anybody, as long as you are using your own money and not duping any one in the process, you should just go on. Feeling good about oneself can have a host of benefits for you. Number one of which is being positive about so many things.

Safety for the sick

Having a sick person at home made us more aware of implementing bathroom safety. I recently bought some items that I think will aid my grandma in being more safe at home. I don’t want her slipping on the floor accidentally so I bought this sticky mat that we put on the bathroom floor. I also had a bar installed along the wall that she can hold on to.

Abuse

In TV Patrol World, a Filipina filed charges against her American live-in partner because he beat her up. According to the security personnel of the building where they live in, the couple was fighting about their savings. They heard the American beating the Filipina, slamming her against the wall and slapping her on the chest! The security guards sought the help of the police and the American was brought to the police station. The Filipina then said that she was being beaten by her boyfriend due to financial problems between the two.

The police filed charges against the American. Unfortunately, after an hour or two, the Filipina withdrew the charges and the lovers went out of the police station hand in hand. Tsk tsk tsk

My weekend

It was an enjoyable weekend for me. I was able to rest and sleep longer than usual. I was able to watch my favorite tv shows and was even able to squeeze in a movie or two. I went to the mall with a friend and had fits of laughter when we saw this exit sign that had something on the side. It was hilarious! All in all, it was one of the most relaxing weekends I’ve had in a long while.

Motorbike accidents

I don’t know why people, most especially the authorities, are not alarmed by the number of accidents happening to those riding motorbikes. You will surely hear something about this in every news program you watch. Daily! I wonder if these motorist have been checking out online life insurance quotes so they can get one for them. Accidents can happen to anyone. That is proven again and again in news reports that we watch daily.

YouTube babies

YouTube is now the vehicle to launch one’s singing career. I am thinking of Charice Pempengco and Arnel Pineda. Imagine, Charice was seen by Ellen de Generes on YouTube, a clip of her in a South Korean singing competition. Ellen was impressed and asked her to guest on her show. Look at where Charice is right now! An international singing sensation being handled by David Foster and the queen of talk, Oprah, herself. Wow!

And Arnel Pineda? The international band, Journey, discovered him through YouTube as well. He was asked to become the band’s lead vocals and well, they just finished a US tour and have guested in Ellen, too!

Want to be discovered as well? Post a video in YouTube now!

Home office

Yey! Next week I will be canvassing for office furniture. Actually, it’s for my home office. My old computer desk won’t fit my desktop computer and my laptop. I want them side by side so I will buy a bigger table. I will also buy some organizers for the clutter I have lying around my feet. This time, the pieces I will be buying are hopefully for keeps.

Running errands

Come Tuesday I will have to run some errands for the family again. Every week, I allot a day just for running errands. Ever since I started working at home, I became the designated person to run errands on a weekly basis. It’s okay with me, as long as I go out on my own schedule and nobody’s going to demand that I do it right away. Like my dad wanted me to go and check out some spring plungers that he needs. He asked this last week but since I was sick a few days ago, I can only do it by Tuesday. And it’s fine with him.

MacGyver

macgyver

Do you remember the 1980s hit tv show “MacGyver“? It starred Richard Dean Anderson as the incredibly resourceful secret agent for the Phoenix Foundation who frequently would escape from dangerous situations with ingenious and lightning-quick engineering trickery. The show ran from 1985-92 on ABC.

It is being reported that New Line is producing a feature film of the hit tv show. What do you think of this? Will you watch it?

A watch for dad

I saw Panerai watches the other day when I surfed the net and I wanted to buy one for my dad. He’s been using the same watch for a number of years now. He’s loyal to his things. But then I want to give him a choice should he feels like not using the one he has right now.

When my next pay check comes, I will buy that watch for him.

Twilight Anime

Scifirewire.com is reporting that Twilight might be adapted as a Japanese anime. Can you imagine Robert Pattinson‘s character, Edward Cullen, as an anime character?

Catherine Hardwicke, director of the Twilight movie, was said to have commented something to the effect to Rob Pattinson when they were filming the final sequence of the film. Rob was heard as saying… “I look Asian in this scene,” Pattinson says. “I do, I look like an anime character.”

Benefit processing

Admit it, processing a social security disability benefit can be a tiring one. And there are times when you do not succeed in getting what you are expecting. I mean, that’s how it is here in our place. But if you want an almost guaranteed success in processing it, go to Allsup.com, a provider of financial and healthcare related services to people with disabilities. They have serviced more than a hundred thousand people already.

Summer season in full swing

Our vacuum cleaner works overtime. With the summer season in full swing nowadays, I find it hard to work in a dusty area. My work area at home is near the windows. So every day, before working, I make sure I vacuum my area clean.

Vacuuming is also a symbolic way for me to clean my mind. Taking away the clutter will help the great ideas to get in and take form. Don’t you think?

Let go..

reservoir

He’s so stuffy. Reserved at most times. He rarely smiles, would usually bestow it only on people close to him. But when he finally accepted his life, he suddenly felt free. No more burden on his shoulder. He felt more at peace with the world.

He’s finally ready to let go
