I used to work for a company wherein my boss wanted me to join in almost every meeting there was that had a financial aspect in it. It was just her way to make sure that the finance department was not being bypassed in important decision making in the company. And I understood her ‘strategy’. There was a project management software presentation and I was a part of it. Of course, the finance department was involved especially in the budget side of things. As usual, I was asked to participate in the planning process.

Suffice it to say that in my two years of stay in the company, I probably spent a year of it in the conference room.
