Live healthy

Do you know where I can get bsn atro-phex?

I just had a really great time with friends a week ago. As usual, we met for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. And as usual, I ate a lot! I think it’s already automatic for me to set aside my diet when I have an important meet-up scheduled. It seems my mind sends signal to the rest of my body that the diet is off today.

I badly need to discipline myself already. I need it for health reasons. I am not getting any younger each passing day. In fact, I am already feeling some aches and pains from time to time. I attribute it to the unhealthy lifestyle I’ve been leading for the past couple of years. It’s time for me to ditch that kind of lifestyle and finally start living healthy.

Custom-made theme for this blog

You might have noticed that I changed this blog’s theme once again. I couldn’t really find the right theme that I feel would best represent this blog. I played with three themes in the past months but every time I load the homepage of this blog, I really didn’t like the look. The truth is, even this theme is not representative of what I want this blog to be.

I think I will ask for a custom-made theme for Splotches. I know a theme designer who’s good but the prices of her themes are affordable.

Hmmm…

Wedding in May

couple-getting-married

My sister’s best friend is getting married in May. She will act as the maid of honor. To help with the wedding preparations, she already volunteered to take care of the sending out of the wedding invitations. I volunteered to organize some of the things for the reception. And there’s our dad who will also act as one of the principal sponsors. So you can say that this is somewhat a family affair.

May and June as well as October to December are the wedding months in the country. Couples normally get married in any of these months. Personally, I prefer to get married in February when I am sure there will be no rain that will ruin my wedding.

What about you?

New hobby

This year, I thought I’d take up a hobby. Aside from reading books, that is. I saw this corner in the mall where painting on a ceramic tile is being taught to a group of people of different ages. There were kids, teens and adults. When I saw it up close, it made me want to join the group!

I must admit I am no good in painting. But I would love to learn even at this age. It’s never too late to acquire a hobby, right?

Should have been Bella…

Ashley Greene

If I were to choose someone else to play Bella Swan in the Twilight Saga, I would have chosen Ashley Greene instead of that sour face Kristen Stewart! She’s really pretty and is always photographed smiling. Unlike the ingrate K-Stew.

Anyway, her role as Alice Cullen is still good. I love her character both in the book and in the movies. I hope she’ll be given more movies that will make her star shine brighter. Can you say I’m a fan? ;)

Nagging on little things

I work at home. I realized that when you do, you start seeing so many things at home. Little things that you normally don’t focus on. Laundry detergent, cobwebs, utensils, the lightbulb in the storage room, closets, the Ladybug steam cleaner that is rarely used because no one wants to clean the house…

And then you start nagging people in the house to clean up and to give away things not being used anymore!

I speak from experience. I have been working at home for the past three years and I have turned from a passive housemate to a nagging one. Hehehe

Drooling over the man!

It’s funny how the cardboard display of Robert Pattinson still generates reactions from fans even when New Moon was over. I went to the mall the other week and I still saw a couple of teens taking pictures of themselves with the cardboard RPatz. To be honest, I would probably take the cardboard home if someone will give it to me. I will put it in my bedroom to gaze at whenever I feel like it. Ha! Ha! Ha!

RPatzCardboard

LOL!

Well, can you blame me and the teens drooling over the man? He’s drop dead gorgeous! And his British accent is sexy as hell! Proof is the report that Burger King lost almost all their Robert Pattinson cardboard displays in their different branches!

Movies in 2010

lovelybones

There are so many good movies coming up this 2010! There’s Alice in Wonderland with the adorable Anne Hathaway and the brilliant Johnny Depp. There’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Heath Ledger’s last movie made. Although the movie being shown locally is still a big question mark. It’s not in the roster of upcoming movies to be shown in SM Cinemas. There’s The Lovely Bones based on the novel by Alice Sebold. Sherlock Holmes of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Of course, the highly anticipated first of the two Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. And many more!

Can’t wait for these movies to be shown here!

Doing commercials

I am looking for a job right now. I don’t need it right away since I still have a part-time work I am busy with, but I want to keep my options open. There was a time when I was asked to do a commercial for a detergent bar. I laughed it off, telling my co-workers that I’d rather not. Doing commercials pays good money. But I am not really into it. I am a bit shy facing the cameras hahaha

I regretted that decision. Looking back, I could have made some really good money from it. Sure, the role was somehow embarrassing considering I am still young that time and I would get to play a mother doing the laundry. It just came to mind that one local celebrity made a lot of money out of portraying a discriminating mother of twins who is meticulous when it comes to the detergent bar and powder she uses for their clothes.

That’s a chunk of money that I let go. Sigh.

Rachel Zoe in bikini

Stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe, showed off her bikini bod in St. Bart’s with her husband, Rodger. It will surely fuel the old rumors of her with an eating disorder…

Rachel Zoe

Can you see the bones sticking out her skin? My goodness! The lady needs to eat some more! No wonder there were rumors before of anorexia afflicting her. But she brushed it off saying that she was born that way. Thin and skinny are two different things.

What do you think about Rachel Zoe’s body?

Local radio stations' web sites

Web sites of radio stations here in the Philippines are not yet that ready for online streaming. Only a few of them are equipped to give online users a good connection. Monster Radio RX 93.1 and Magic TM 89.9 are the only two radio stations that are above average in their online streaming capabilities. The rest offer mediocre live streaming. Mellow 94.7 and WRock 96.3, two of my staples when online, would buffer from time to time. 105.1 Crossover, on the other hand, offers a good connection. Only, you have to go to another web site to live streaming. Their web site offers a broken link.

I hope that this 2010, more local radio stations will find themselves improving their online presence. And live streaming is really a must especially there are so many Filipinos living and working outside the country whose another source of connection to their homeland is listening to local radio stations.
