Up in the mountains

Mr. Yuson used to be into hunting. You can see it right away the moment you enter his house. When he was younger, he would be carrying his rifle complete with rifle scopes) with him all the time. You see, Mr. Yuson lived up the mountains with his grandpa so carrying his rifle with him was also a protection.

He went down and lived in the city when he turned 23. The time he lost his grandpa. Since then, he would occasionally go up in the mountains to check his old home and to hunt. But he’s not capable of doing that anymore since he got into a car accident. He can’t hunt anymore but he has his memories to share with those who would listen.

Death of a loved one

Having experienced it myself, I know that the death of a loved one can bring so much pain in a person’s heart. It can bring depression and the person can feel like he/she has reached rock bottom. It’s not easy getting over it and moving on.

There are depression rehab treatment centers for those who need it. When a woman’s son died due to cancer at the young age of 15, she was naturally devastated. It took her two years to recover and even longer to move on. Good thing she had the overwhelming support of her family and relatives. What about those persons without families at their side?

It’s okay to mourn a loved one who died. It’s okay to get sad and even depressed for a while. But if you see someone being so depressed months after a loved one’s death, do something about it. Get him/her treated! There are rehab centers for the depressed.

Gadgets… what’s in!

You can see that celebrity kids nowadays carry with them gadgets that are “in” and it doesn’t matter if the gadget is intended for someone older. One celebrity kid was shown on TV and he proudly told the reporter that he has a laptop, a black berry tablet, an Android phone, a psp and some other gadgets that I only heard from him. Imagine that!

I can’t stop myself from being envious! Can you imagine a kid aged ten having all those stuff and I am 33 and the only gadgets I own are a desktop, a very old smartphone, and a broken laptop! Life! Ha-ha-ha!

Horse riding lessons

My neighbor is offering horse riding lessons to boys and girls from eight to sixteen years old. They have a farm not far from the city. He can bring the participants there and get them back. Everyday. Classes will start from six in the morning so participants will have to be at his house by five in the morning. It will end around noon. So they will all be back after having lunch at the farm.

He will provide the apparel including the equestrienne and equestrian boots as well as other stuff a participant will need. Of course, the fees will include that and he is willing to show the breakdown of the amount he will be charging each participant. Not surprisingly, most of our neighbors’ kids would like to join the lessons.

Emma Watson’s Vogue cover

EmmaVogue

The beautiful Emma Watson will be the cover girl on Vogue’s July 2011 Edition. She talks about the final movie in the Harry Potter series, what she will miss the most, life after Harry Potter and so much more!

I will make sure to get a copy of this mag. I am a huge fan of Emma mainly because she’s a big celebrity who values education more than the fleeting fame and fortune. I like that about her a lot!

;)

Shutter Island on HBO later

Shutter Island

Shutter Island starring Leonardo di Caprio will be shown on HBO (Channel 39 in Global Destiny) later at 12:40AM. I am not sure if I will watch it since everyone’s asleep by then and I will surely disturb them with the sound of the tv on.

But I want to watch Leo!

;P

TV Ads making us look stupid!

I hate those tv commercials that assumes we are all stupid! Topping the list are those shampoo commercials where the faces of celebrities are being used instead of the faces of the real women whose hairs are long and shiny. Have you seen that Pantene commercial of Angelica Panganiban? You can see right away that she’s not the woman in that tv ad! Her face was used in lieu of the real face of the woman to make it look like the long and shiny hair was hers. The old Palmolive shampoo commercial of KC Concepcion wherein her hair was long and braided was very obviously a fake as she’s very visible that time and her hair was never that long! Who was she fooling with that commercial???

There’s also the commercial showing a prominent showbiz personality endorsing a detergent powder. I am sure you also know that she is not the type to wash her own clothes as she’s known to be uber rich! And I am also sure she’s not going to use a very cheap detergent in washing her expensive clothes!

The newest tv ad that had me close to pulling my own hair is the Chowking Crunchy Chicken commercial. The tv ad shows a group of ‘testers’ testifying to the crunchiness of the chicken. Who are they fooling????? Those ‘testers’ are commercial models!!! Don’t they know that some of those ‘testers’ are familiar faces already for a couch potato like me???

I wonder where’s truth in advertising in those tv ads. Are they even taking it into consideration when they are planning those tv ads?!??!??
