Dismissed!

The child abuse case filed by Nadia Montenegro and her two minor kids Alyanna and Anykka was dismissed. The judge said that it is still the parent who’s ultimately responsible for the working hours of the kids.

I think the judge is right. In the first place, if Nadia didn’t want her kids to be working so late why let them join show business? If she wanted her kids to focus on school rather than on the biz, why let them sign up as talents of Annabelle Rama? Nadia’s character is suspect in all of these and I do think that a parent should really be held responsible for whatever happens to his/her kids.

If Charice wants everyone talking about her, then she is successful in her attempt! The pint-sized Filipino singer is now sporting a new look…

Yup, what you just saw is true. Charice now has a blonde short hair… and a new tattoo! Her new ink says “love eternally” with the infinity sign in between the words. Charice is holding a series of concerts entitled Infinity so it might have something to do with the sign.

Now I have something to say about this girl’s new look. I do think that she was ill-advised by whoever told her to go for that look. For one, it doesn’t suit the sweet persona that made her beloved by so many. Sure she is now going for the ‘edgy’ look but come on! She is known as a belter not a rocker! I would have understood the new look if she’s changing her tunes. Another one, people are now questioning her gender because she looks more like a lesbian than a girl. Of course it shouldn’t matter if she’s gay or not as her talent won’t be diminished by that. Still, as she is also a role model for the youth, a question in her gender will somewhat create an impact on her status. And then there’s the thing about being a laughingstock locally. A photo of her and Maverick from the tandem Ariel and Maverick is now circulating the web…

Whoever advised or (if she’s really the one who decided to have that new look) approved her new look should be axed! It’s not doing her any good. According to her, she was asked if she wants to go for Avril Lavigne or Selena Gomez and she chose the former thus that blonde short hair. But if I were to advise Charice, I would have told her to go for this look…

Better, don’t you think? ‘Edgy’ need not mean a drastic haircut and an ink to go with it. ‘Edgy’ can be in the type of music she will be creating or the type of clothes she will be wearing from now on.

Does it really have to be a change in looks and attitude?

My first question is this: is she really out of ASAP 2012 already? There were no news reports or even rumors spreading around about it. Second question: ASAP is already running for 17 years?!? Wow! My last question is this: She is now the breadwinner in the family, meaning Dolphy and that adopted daughter studying in Australia?

Now let me comment on the bashing that Zsa Zsa received.

First off, Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking and microblogging sites AND even blogs, can be cruel places in the internet for celebrities. You can expect a lot of rants and raves about a celebrity and some serious bashing as well. Now, it’s understandable that some celebrities would succumb to the temptation of fighting with their ‘bashers’. They are only human like us ordinary netizens, you know.

Zsa Zsa probably reached the end of her rope when she answered her two ‘weekly’ (according to her) ‘bashers’. But if you ask me, what she should have done was block the two tweeps the first time they bashed her. It’s not really constructive criticism so it’s not being overly sensitive or pikon on her part should she block them that first time.

I have nothing against using Photoshop in enhancing an image. I use Picasa in enhancing images I post online. But to use Photoshop in altering an image altogether and passing it off as the true one…

Tell me, do you believe that’s how both women look? Jinkee, maybe. But the cheeks were a dead giveaway that her image was Photoshopped much. Charice? Now, that was totally NOT her anymore!

No wonder the two covers above created an issue out of Photoshopping magazine covers. Would you buy a mag that feeds you a supposed image of a celebrity that is enhanced so much to the point that you don’t recognize the celebrity anymore?

I don’t think I will.

Annabelle Rama-Nadia Montenegro telenovela

Annabelle Rama is well-known for being the matriarch of the Gutierrez clan. Wife to Eddie and mother to Ruffa, twins Richard and Raymond, Rocky, Elvis and Richie Paul. She is also known as a talent manager not only to her husband and kids but also to Miriam Quiambao among others. She is fondly called Bisaya in local showbiz as she is a Cebuana with a prominent Visayan accent when she speaks.

Nadia Montenegro, on the other hand, is well-known in local showbiz as the best friend ng bayan. Best friend of this and that celebrity, and formerly of Gretchen Barretto whom she betrayed by exposing to the public her alleged love affair with Dodie Puno while still with Tonyboy Cojuangco.

So they are now feuding, Annabelle and Nadia. Each of them are filing lawsuit after lawsuit against each other. I am telling you it has become a saga that everyone is awaiting the ending of. Nadia accused Anabelle of pimping her two minor daughters, making them wear inappropriate clothes when attending parties with influential men in attendance. She filed a child abuse case against Anabelle who is the manager of her kids. Anabelle, of course, cried foul! She said that Nadia insisted on her managing the latter’s kids and now after helping her kids she will accuse her of being a pimp just so she can nullify the manager-talent contract between Anabelle and her kids. That accusation has branched out into robbery, attempted kidnapping, unjust vexation and a lot more.

So who’s telling the truth between the two?

My bet is that Anabelle is telling the truth! I believe Nadia’s history of betraying even the hands that fed her can stand as an evidence against her. Gretchen fed her and was there for her and her family all those years and look what she did to her? The same can be said of Pops Fernandez whom Nadia also betrayed. Plus, can you really believe someone who married that former mayor Asistio?!?

If you have been reading gossip columns of local newspapers, you probably encountered already the mystery behind Mo Twister‘s tweets and Tumblr posts. He was talking about abortion and an unborn child that had no choice in the matter. He was recently embroiled in a matter wherein he reminisced about the good old days with a woman he’s been with. And everyone knows that he’s been with Rhian Ramos, the woman he cried his eyes out for on national television. Now, this…

An article in PEP said that Mo tweeted the following intriguing and mysterious tweets…

People are speculating that Mo was referring to Rhian as the “she” in his tweets and the “young child” as their unborn child allegedly aborted by the she in his tweets. I’ve read the comments section and there were wild speculations there but 90% of the comments were saying that Rhian indeed ‘committed’ the act and that Mo was ‘devastated’ by it.

Mo has reportedly declared he would be leaving the country for good and will move to New York. He already sold most of his stuff and is ready to drop a bomb (possibly against Rhian) before leaving the country very soon.

Let’s see where this story goes…

Sharon closes P1B deal with TV5!?!

How true is the breaking news in Philstar.com‘s Funfare Update by Ricky Lo in the entertainment section of the daily that Sharon Cuneta will sign a record breaking deal today. She apparently closed a One-Billion-Peso deal with TV5! Wow!!!

If it’s true then it would be the first time this big a deal ever happened in television history. Sharon is now being managed by Vic del Rosario, Jr. of Viva Group of Companies alongside her long-time manager Sandra Chavez.

Now the million dollar question is… Is Sharon still worth that much money?!?

My question: Can TV5 afford that much LOSS?!?

The Ramgen Revilla Murder Case

I’ll tell you the truth, I am one of the many Filipinos who are following the Ramgen Revilla murder case. Who wouldn’t? It’s ripe with the makings of a Latin telenovela! Siblings killing their very own sibling. Their mother is potentially involved in the plotting of the murder as well. Even the younger siblings are said to be aware of the plot to kill the eldest in their family. And the root of all of these? Money! Dispute over a reportedly 1 million pesos financial support to the nine kids sired by former Senator Ramon Revilla, Sr. from Genelyn Magsaysay, a woman he once had a movie with before he became a senator of the country.

The prime suspects in the case are Ramgen’s brother and sister, Ramon Joseph “RJ” Revilla and Ramona “Mara” Revilla. There are also five other suspects said to be the ones hired by the brother and sister tandem to carry out the murder. RJ is already in jail while Mara flew to Turkey last Friday night. The latter is said to be married to a Turkish and a resident of the country already.

There are new developments in the case daily. Most people are really eating up whatever the news feed us about the case. We are all anxious to know who really murdered Ramgen and if they are indeed his very own siblings!

And the plot thickens…

Maricel Soriano’s back!

So I read in a local entertainment site that Maricel Soriano is back. She will be starring in a Regal Films movie entitled Yesterday Today and Tomorrow with Jericho Rosales. A story conference was held yesterday at the Imperial Palace Suites.

I wonder if Ms. Soriano is now ready to answer the accusations of physical abuse lodged against her by her two helpers a few months ago. Did she settle the case already or is she going to play chase with the media about it?

Maricel is one of the few local actresses that I like. I actually liked her even more when I heard how she turned all religious and lessened the katarayan. But then reports surfaced of how she became abusive of her helpers and how she’s turned allegedly a drug dependent (with that rumor of being confined in the basement of Makati Medical Center before the news of helper abuse surfaced). Whatever happened to her?!?

Camille Prats-Linsangan: Widow at 26

Camille Prats-Linsangan, or better known as Princess Sarah to those who’ve seen her acting at a very young age, is now a widow at 26 years of age. Her husband of three years, Anthony Linsangan, passed away yesterday morning. He succumbed to nasopharyngeal cancer. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer June of last year and three months before his death had already stopped chemo and radiation procedures and just underwent pain management. According to Camille’s brother, John Prats, his brother-in-law’s cancer spread to his spine and became cancer of the bones. I can only imagine the pain the guy went through.

Camille was interviewed on a showbiz talk show yesterday and she said that she couldn’t believe that she’s now a widow at 26. She couldn’t believe that a man as young and full of life as her husband could be taken just like that. It is really hard to see a love one taken away. Been there. No words can give comfort or peace to the grieving family. No words can take away the pain. Good thing Camille has a large family. She also has their three-year-old son Nathan to draw strength from. And she has her husband’s family for additional support.

Condolence to the Prats-Linsangan family. Rest in peace, Anthony Linsangan.

Boy Abunda’s mother has dementia.

I just read in PEP.ph that Boy Abunda already gave up his talent management company Backroom, Inc. and will also consider giving up some of his TV shows to take care of his ailing mom. He admitted that his mom, known among showbiz folks as Nanay Lesing, is suffering from dementia. This is the reason why he is choosing to give up some of his work, to be with her mom in this time of need.

According to Boy Abunda, host of The Buzz in ABS-CBN among others, he is ready to lose everything to be with his mom. Boy is well-known for his love of his mom. The two even have a TV commercial of their own. He will be spending more time with her while he is still juggling TV work and pursuing a doctorate degree.

Every time I see Sarah Geronimo there is an improvement in her. It just might be the make-up which is now polished and makes her look classy and sophisticated. Or it can be the carefully chosen hip and fashionable clothes that she’s now wearing. Whatever it is, I think that the girl is truly dedicated to her craft, improving herself and making sure that her fans won’t get tired of her. And potential new followers will find her engaging and very much pleasing to look at.

Just last night I saw a news clip in TV Patrol about her and Gerald Anderson. They are partners in a new TV commercial. She introduced him and the camera zoomed on her face. She really is getting prettier!

She is one of the good kids in local showbiz. I wish her continued success. I do wish artists emulate her example in improving not just her craft but her personality as well.

Andi Eigenmann: 21 and pregnant

This news should not have been this big a deal considering the girl is already 21. She’s of age and she can very well get married or get pregnant (which she did!) or both. But since Andi Eigenmann is the current “it” girl of local showbiz, then the news of her pregnancy shocked everyone, her colleagues and fans alike!

The girl showed a lot of promise. I think being the daughter of actress Jaclyn Jose and actor Mark Gil helped a lot. Plus Andi’s really a pretty girl. She is being groomed as the next big star of ABS-CBN and for her to throw all that away… that is shocking indeed! Oh well, some things are really not meant to happen. Maybe this is not her time to fully shine yet.

The news broke out and at first, there was no one confirming or denying the news. Until Jaclyn broke her silence and gave an exclusive interview to TV Patrol entertainment reporter Mario Dumaual. Yes, it’s true. Her daughter is 4 and 1/2 months pregnant. And the father of the child turned his back on Andi the minute he learned of the pregnancy. Well, who wouldn’t turn his back on the girl when while she’s pregnant with his baby she’s dating someone else???

Reports said that the father of the child is ABS-CBN talent Albie Casiño. But Andi’s boyfriend before the news broke out was Jake Ejercito, son of former president Joseph Ejercito Estrada to former actress Laarni Enriquez.

With all the aspects to this story, can you see why this news is currently hot, hot, hot?!?

Suicidal teen stars

I watched Paparazzi on TV5 last Sunday. One of the topics in their Blind Item segment was the suicidal teen stars. One of those was obviously Kim Chiu. It was rumored that she slashed her wrists because of Gerald Anderson‘s smitten with Bea Alonzo. She was seen with white marks on her wrists which fueled the speculation further that she indeed attempted suicide.

But the Paparazzi hosts were quick to point out that it might not be true considering the girl is really pretty and has everything going for her. Plus, she has a lot of admirers so Gerald’s lost might not have that kind of impact on her.

True or not, I wish Kim and other teens out there won’t attempt to commit suicide again. Over love? Come on! You will laugh your head off when you look back years from now and see how foolish you’ve been! It’s so not worth it! There are other fishes in the ocean, you know.

Sharon-Hayden issue

Hayden Kho, that doctor involved in the sex scandal with Katrina Halili, is in the limelight again. Not because of his new business venture, a perfume business, but because of a tweet he posted regarding a direct competitor’s billboard. His tweet basically said that a company put out a billboard along Edsa which assumed they can fool people easily. He asked people to guess.

Sharon Cuneta, newest celebrity endorser of Marie France, assumed right away that the target of Hayden’s tweet was her. You see, people are talking about that billboard of Sharon showing a “before” and “after” photos of her whole body. But the “after” photo is highly doubtful considering when you see her on TV, she’s still bigger in size.

So Sharon assumed that Hayden’s tweet was about her Marie France billboard. The thing is, Hayden said that it’s not about her but actually about Joel Cruz, the king of scents and direct competitor of Hayden scents. Sharon doesn’t want to stop lambasting Hayden even if it is now clear that she assumed wrong.
