America’s Next Top Model

Americas Next Top Model

I wonder where the winners and runners-up of America’s Next Top Model are right now. I’ve seen a couple of them at the runway in almost every Project Runway’s season finale. But as for major media exposure, apart from that one who had a run-in with an actress and her family at an airport, you haven’t heard anything from any one of the winners.

It makes you wonder if Tyra Banks is doing something good for these women or she’s just giving them false hope. Can they really become top fashion models or will they be just one of the many who dreamt and fell short?

GLEE goes Gaga!

If you haven’t seen the Lady Gaga episode of GLEE yesterday, you missed out on a lot of really good performances! I particularly love their Bad Romance performance. It’s so ferosh! I love it!!!

Here’s a video of the song. Too bad there’s no video of the actual episode segment. You should have seen how crazy their outfits were especially that of Kurt’s! Love it!

What do you think?

Damon on GQ

Another reason to buy GQ again…

IanSomerhalder-GQ

Ah, I do love Damon Salvatore!

Or Ian Somerhalder for you people who don’t watch The Vampire Diaries. Don’t you just find him oh so cute? If all villains look like him, I don’t think I’ll ever root for the hero!

GLEE Season 2

GLEE

GLEE Season 2 is on the 14th already! It’s just a few days away. I know there are a lot of GLEEks like me who are excited to watch the highly anticipated new season of this hit TV show. In fact, I know my sisters and my friends are all counting down the days until the season premiere.

Can’t wait! I’ve read the plans they have for the second season and the one I like the most is the Madonna episode. Madonna!!!

Watch the teasers for GLEE and see for yourselves.

Anderson Cooper

AC360

If there’s one TV personality that I am so in love with, it’s Anderson Cooper! I love the guy! He is brilliant and has so much integrity. I love watching his CNN show AC360. I also read his blog, follow him in Twitter, and even in his Facebook account.

I am not stalking him, okay? I am just a big fan! One Facebook friend even said that she’s also a fan. Well, who wouldn’t be, right? The topics he discusses in his AC360 are relevant and have so much sense unlike others like his.

Are you also a fan?

2010 Grammy Awards

parisprince

Have you seen the 2010 Grammy Awards? All I can is…. wow! What an event! I am in awe of the opening number by Lady Gaga (featuring Elton John at the latter part of the number) and the one by Pink. Who would’ve thought Pink could go that sexy, huh?!? And Lady Gaga is undoubtedly the number 1 dance artist of the year. I don’t think Poker Face will die easily. It might take a year or two more before everyone stops singing it. Maybe not!

One poignant moment was the tribute to Michael Jackson and when his kids, Paris and Prince went up the stage to accept his posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award. Am I the only one who noticed how pretty those kids have become? Paris is like a mini-version of Nicole Richie! And Prince will surely break many girls hearts a few years from now. Such good-looking kids!

I just love the Grammys! But this year stole the thunder from any of the other ones. In my opinion, anyway.

My current choice: The Vampire Diaries

vampdiaries

The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith.

I’ve read the books. I loved it! The story is not as page-turner as Twilight but not as cheesy.

Now, I’ve seen the pilot episode of the CW series and it’s not great but it’s okay. And enough to make the viewers come back for more episodes. The acting is way better than Twilight. Hands down. I love Rob Pattinson but I must admit, he’s nothing compared to Paul Wesley’s acting. Nina Dobrev is much, much better than Kristen Stewart’s acting. Of course, Ian Somerhalder is divine looking. Love him!

Can’t wait for episode 2!

Trueblood

I don’t think I will be able to watch True Blood with anyone from the family. It is just too raunchy, to say the least. Imagine, the first scene alone has a woman rubbing a guy down there. Hahaha! I was shocked! No, I am not being prudent here. I just don’t know what to expect from the series. I am currently reading the first book in The Southern Vampire Mystery series by Charlaine Harris, the books from which True Blood is based on. The book is sexy but there was no first scene with a woman rubbing a man. Hahaha

My reaction was funny, I know. I am used to watching scenes like that. Back in college, out of curiosity, my friends and I would watch R movies once a month. Imagine how used I was to scenes more than just rubbing hehe

Anyway, I will continue watching but without anyone watching it with me.

Certified Text Addict

I always watch The Inside Edition. I love the mix of news in that program. In today’s news, there is this 13-year-old kid who sent 14,528 text messages in a month! The average text messages sent of a kid her age is around 1,700 a month. Imagine, her text messages is equivalent to 440 pages, as thick as a phonebook!

According to the teen, she texts her best friend even when they are sitting side by side. The good news is that, she has an unlimited text message plan and her cellphone bill amounted to only 90 bucks. Still, this kid should be taught a lesson. Does she even take a break from texting???

Two more days until Twilight!

This movie is driving me crazy! I can’t wait to see it! Twilight will be shown here in Manila on November 26. Shen, Tim and I are going to watch it on opening day. Yey!!!

Have you watched that episode where Rob Pattinson was a guest in Ellen? Hay… it made me feel like a teen again! Hahaha

I have read the draft for the book Midnight Sun, Edward’s perspective on Twilight. I tell you, if you got super kilig with Twilight, Midnight Sun will make your heart beat triple times faster! It was really, really good! I hope Stephenie Meyer will release it by December this year!

Back in my teenage years

I love teen shows. Up until now that I’m already 28 (turning 29 pretty soon), I still love watching shows with teeners as the lead stars. I remember when I was a teen one of my favorite shows was the California Dreams.

California Dreams is an American TV series that aired from 1992 to 1996. The teen-oriented program aired on Saturday mornings on NBC. It was created by writers Brett Dewey and Ronald B. Solomon and executive produced by
Peter Engel, all known more for their work on Saved by the Bell. California Dreams was about a multiethnic group of teens creating a band and having fun under the sun. The show’s plots combined real-life issues with zany adventures. It covered a range of topics such as fear, using drugs for a competitive edge, falling for scams, letting greed overtake friendship, accepting a divorced parent dating, forgiving others for past wrongs, and dealing with general teen social problems. – taken from Wikipedia

Another show I truly enjoyed when I was a teenager was My Secret Identity. This show came before California Dreams.

My Secret Identity was a Canadian television series in the 1980s starring Jerry O’Connell as 14-year-old Andrew Clements, who, one day while looking for his friend, Dr. Benjamin Jeffcoate (Derek McGrath), trips and is hit by a radiation beam, causing him to develop superpowers. He uses these abilities to fight crime and to help people, but hides them from all of his family and friends with the exception of Jeffcoate. – taken from Wikipedia

And now, after being so popular for how many months here and abroad, after all the brouhaha died down, I got addicted to The High School Musical!

High School Musical is a made-for-TV musical. Released on January 20, 2006, it was one of the most successful Disney Channel Original Movies produced, with a television sequel in production and a movie spin-off in the planning process.[2] The film’s soundtrack was the best-selling album of 2006.[3] The film was shot almost entirely in the Wasatch Front region of Utah (namely Salt Lake City and Ogden).

With a plot described as a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet,[4] High School Musical is a story of two high school students from rival cliques: Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens), a shy transfer student who excels in math and science. Together, they try out for the lead parts in their high school musical, and as a result, divide the school. Despite other students’ attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella resist peer pressure and rivalry, inspiring others along the way not to “stick with the status quo.”

This was Disney Channel’s most successful movie at its time with 7.7 million viewers in its premiere broadcast in the US. In the UK, the cable premiere received around 835,000 viewers for its first run, making the film the most watched program for the Disney Channel (UK) of 2006. – taken from Wikipedia

I go crazy when I hear songs from the show. It’s really good! :)

Oh well… There’s nothing wrong with enjoying teenage shows right? ;)

David Cook: The New American Idol

David Cook was declared as the winner of the American Idol Season 7. Besting David Archuleta by garnering a record 56% of the total 97.5 million audience votes. Wow! Over 12 million votes more than the 44% votes garnered by David A.

He sang The Time of My Life, a song written by Redgie Hamm, the winner of the AI songwriting competition, at the end of the show.

Congratulations, David Cook!
